Dave Janssen



Specialty: Guitar/Bass



GIT Graduate, UCLA Music Business, Toured with Danger Zone (X Vanilla Fudge/Mark Stein), (X Badlands/Greg Chaisson), Leo (X Black Sabbath/Dave Spitz), Rocknee, Born Jovi (Bon Jovi Tribute Band), Renaissance Rock Orchestra. Session/Studio guitarist for soundtracks and commercials. Teaches all styles.

Benjamin Fortin



Specialty: Guitar/Bass/Banjo/Mandolin/Ukulele



A New Hampshire native, Benjamin Fortin moved to Los Angeles to study in the prestigious GIT program at Musicians Institute. During his studies, he joined a 10-piece jazz/fusion instrumental band by the name of Mr. Giant. Additionally, he gigged with many local Hollywood artists. Immediately after earning his Associates Degree in Guitar Performance, he made his way into the local music scene as a work-for-hire musician.


Ben is available Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday

Sahand Zare



Specialty: Violin and Piano



A native of Shiraz, Iran, Sahand picked up violin at seven, having received around two years of Orff music training under Mehrzad Foroozan, a well-known local music coach for kids. Pursuing classical music, and with the enormous help of his family, he took lessons from various teachers, mainly those from the capital, Tehran. For years, he received instructions for both Western classical and Traditional Persian Music. At thirteen, Sahand composed his first piece for solo Violin, showcasing it in multiple cities and events. At sixteen, he left his home and arrived in the United States at eighteen, determined to pursue music more earnestly. During his College years, he studied with Dr. Leila Nunez-Fredell from 2018 to 2020. Sahand prepared to enter a university to further his musical studies with her guidance. 2020, he started studying under the esteemed Dr. Lorenz Gamma and earned his bachelor's degree in 2022. Sahand considers himself incredibly fortunate to be mentored by Dr. Gamma. He is currently continuing in the second year of his M.M.degree in violin performance

Chris Jacks



Specialty: Guitar/Bass/Piano



Chris Jacks is a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, with over 30 years of playing, recording and composing experience. An MI graduate with over 15 years of teaching experience from total beginners to advanced, helping to improve technique, theory and how it applies to the instrument with an emphasis on composition and creativity. He teaches all styles.

Andrei Iwata



/Specialty: Guitar/Bass/Ukulele



Andrei has had a lifelong connection to guitar, having played for over 10 years. Growing up in the area, he started out at Dave Janssen’s School of Music throughout his childhood. The skills that he learned have carried over into his adult life as he has become a teacher himself. He has experience with rock, metal, blues, funk, and more.


Andrei is available Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays

Cameron Duringer



Specialty: Guitar and Bass



Cameron was born and raised in Denton, Texas, and picked up the guitar at age eight. By fourteen, he was performing with local bands, and at eighteen he moved to Los Angeles to pursue music full time. A multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, Cameron earned his Associate’s Degree in Studio Recording from Musicians Institute in 2023. Since graduating, he has worked as a freelance musician and instructor, balancing multiple creative projects. While guitar is his primary instrument, Cameron also teaches bass, drums, and piano. His lessons focus on building self-sufficient, versatile musicianship, with an emphasis on improvisation, ear training, and exploring different styles.


Cameron is available Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Mariana Ramirez



Speciality: Vocals and Piano



Mariana has been teaching for eight years and has performed for more than 15 years. BM degree in Vocal Performance, and studied intensively with Carlo Bergonzi in the Bergonzi Masterclass Workshop in 2006. Vocal styles taught are classical, musical theatre, pop, rock, jazz and folk.


Mariana is available Monday,Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Clay Zimmerman



Speciality: Drums and Percussion



Clay is a graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA with a BA in Media Arts and Design and Music Industry. While a student there he was a member of the Jazz Ensemble and Marching Royal Dukes. Clay's been teaching and playing in LA since moving in 2021. Drumming styles taught include rock, jazz, funk, metal, and marching percussion (marching snare, tenors, rudimental playing). Clay is available Monday through Friday

Kiri Setzer



Speciality: Vocals and Piano



Kiri has been singing for over a decade. Since she was 9 years old, she has performed in numerous musicals, choirs, and bands in and around her hometown of Somerset, Massachusetts. In 2022, Kiri moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of working in the music industry. Kiri is currently studying for a degree in Vocal Performance at Musician’s Institute. In her spare time, she plays with multiple bands and writes her own original music. She is experienced in musical theatre, pop, rock, and more! Kiri is available on Saturdays.
